Returned My Foster Bunny Today

I returned my Foster Bunny today. It was so sad I almost cried. I only had him for 2 months, but he became part of the family. My dog doesn't seem to mind that he's gone. Maybe he is excited about not having to share the carrots anymore.

Charities I Support

I've donated money to the following charities this past year:

NRDC Natural Resource Defense Council http://www.nrdc.org/

WWF World Wildlife Fund: http://www.worldwildlife.org/

Arbor Day Foundation: http://www.arborday.org/ I love this~They offer wonderful Give-a-Tree Cards. They will send you a card to sign for any occasion and give to a friend and also plant a tree in their honor. http://www.arborday.org/shopping/giveatree/giveatree.cfm?TrackingID=507 They also offer trees in memory of a loved one or friend that has passed away. http://www.arborday.org/shopping/tictim/TIMSample.cfm and trees planted for pets: http://www.arborday.org/shopping/treesforpets/index.cfm?trackingID=806

Kiva: I favor animal and environmental charities but wanted to support this because it is such a neat idea. This charity allows you to lend money to an entrepreneur in a developing country so they can lift themselves out of poverty http://www.kiva.org/

Almost forgot this one. Peta: www.peta.com They can be a little dramatic at times, but they do get results.

Bear Naked Granola

This granola looks awesome. My friend told me about it as an inspirational story to inspire me to do something with my life.

http://eatbearnaked.com/estore/naturalgranola/

This granola sounds perfect. I'm always looking for something healthy to snack on when I stop at gas stations while I'm on the road traveling. Everyone knows how hard it can be to find a healthy snack at a gas station. I would love to be able to go for some organic granola or trail mix.

This is also a great story about a girl right out of college not knowing what she wanted to do with her life and really only knowing how to make granola really well. She decided to follow her passion.

My friend was trying to stress that I should follow my passion and find something I'm really good at and enjoy doing. Even if it's something as simple as making granola.

What Should a Stay at Home Non-Mom Do With Her Time?

I talked to my good friend today. We met in college and have been friends since I was 19 years old. She knows me as well as practically anyone. I told her I was bored with my numerous years of being a stay at home non-mom and asked her what she thought I should do with my life.

Her first suggestion was that I write a book. She said that I have a gift of getting people to do things for me, and referred to a time in college when we needed a board for a table clinic and went to a lumber yard and I asked the man at the lumber yard to take the wood and put the board together for us, which he did at no charge. I later brought the board home and my father painted it for us. We did nothing for the table clinic. I actually don't remember this incident probably because this wasn't my best work.

I'm not the best writer and actually don't think I would enjoy writing an entire book.

She later went on to suggest I do something with animals particularly dogs, because I like them so much. She suggested an organic dog biscutt company. I actually think this is a pretty good idea, but since I'm not very good at cooking or baking this idea may not work either.

She went on to suggest numerous things like, inventions, make my own perfume, import fabric. All of these ideas seemed very good and are things I've actually thought of.

Sometimes having too many options makes a decision more difficult.

I would love to hear what other people would do if they could do anything and didn't have to work for money.

Housewives of New York City

I love this show. This is my favorite housewives show. I can't watch Atlanta or Orange county. I watch Desperate Housewives every Sunday, but that isn't nearly as good as it use to be.

Why I'm Not in Love With Obama

I'm not sure why I don't love Obama. I can't really answer this. I could give obvious reasons, like my husband having to pay more money in taxes, but that's NOT the reason.

I wanted to be like the cool people on election day and vote for him, but I couldn't and instead had to go with the 3rd party candidate. I certainly, wasn't going to vote for McCain and Palin. I'm not a Republican.

I was even relieved and happy Obama won on election day. I'm thrilled with the changes he has made with abortion rights, stem cell research and much of what he has done so far. He is an honest, intelligent man, that is going to do his best.

I want to love Obama, I really do, he is so perfect in so many way, but I can't and I just don't. A person doesn't choose who they fall in love with. No matter how hard I try, I know I will never love Obama.

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

Everyone has different hair types and problems and some very fortunate people (like me before now) don't have hair problems. If you are one of the unfortunate many with dry damaged hair this is the product for you.

I have naturally curly, dry hair, from years of flat iron use, and this product has done wonders for my hair. Ojon oil is a rich oil extracted from the Ojon tree in Tropical Central America. It can be used as a deep conditioning treatment or a leave in conditioner. I use it at least once per week as a deep conditioning treatment leaving it in my hair for 6-8 hours with a shower cap (the kind salons use (I buy at Sally's Beauty Supply) ). I don't like sleeping in a shower cap, so I use it during the day, being a stay at home non-mom I'm able to do this. You can do this while you are sleeping, but be careful it will stain your pillow case. FYI....I stained one of my pillow cases and the oil did wash out.
I bought the products at sephora or you can buy them directly from Ojon.

I'm also using the Ojon Ultra Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. The smell is the best thing about the Shampoo and Conditioner. I love the smell, but I'm not a perfume kinda girl. It's a very natural earthy smell and I'm sure not for everyone. Nontheless, I prefer my biolage shampoo and deep conditioner to Ojon Shampoo and Conditioner and will most likely be returning back after I'm finished with my new bottles of Ojon.
But I will continue to use my Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment 4-Ever.

How to Save Money When Buying Your Own Medical Insurance Policy

One of our great economic challenges of the decade is the cost of medical insurance for individuals as well as companies.

A suggestion for individuals when shopping for medical insurance would be to comparative shop. An excellent website to use for comparative shopping for individual insurance is http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/.

Just by typing in your zip code you will get quotes and be able to compare plans. You can use this information to find a new insurance provider or you can use the information to contact your current provider and use the quote to negotiate a better price for your current plan with your insurance agent.

An insurance company that I want to recommend is Assurant Health: http://www.assuranthealth.com/corp/ah?ipsrc=media&reftype=pi&sptype=osmx.

I have family members that have switched to Assurant Health and have found it to be a hugh cost saving value compared to their previous provider.

Must a Person have a Job or do Volunteer Work to Contribute to Society in a Positive Way?

I sent my husband an email this afternoon and asked him if I was valuable.

His response: In every non-financial way imaginable!

Isn't that sweet.

But it made me question, why did he consider me unvaluable in a financial way. I do spend the money he makes working at his "job" and this spending does stimulate the economy. He certainly wouldn't buy the clothing and items for our houses that I buy. So, I must be valuable to others in a financial way when I make purchases and pay for services.

My question is must one have a " job" or do volunteer work to contribute to society in a positive way.

Or, Is there another way?

Best for My Country that I Don't Work

My friend gave me a hard time for not working today. He said he would not speak to me until I found a job or did some type of volunteer work.

Assuming, my foster bunny doesn't count, I did some deep soul searching and made a quick stop at the book store to pick up some franchise /small business magazines.

After much contemplation, I came to the conclusion that it is best for my fellow Americans that I in fact, don't work! If I took a job I would be taking the job of someone that potentially needs the money to pay for housing and food. I need money for neither.

He agreed! However, I was still bothered by this perception that because I was not working at a "job" or doing volunteer work that I wasn't contributing to society in a positive way. After reading my 3 magazines I found an article regarding starting a blog. I thought I can do that! Why not. I'll try. So, this is my first attempt at work in almost 4 years.
